This tour offers rides from 1 to 3 days, suitable for all levels.

We’ll be cycling at altitudes ranging from approximately 1,900 to 2,400 meters above sea level.

Skill Levels

Beginners:

  • Distances: 18 to 25 km
  • Total elevation gain: 400 meters or less

Intermediate:

  • Distances: 25 to 35 km
  • Total elevation gain: 900 meters or less

Advanced:

  • Distances: 30 to 55 km
  • Total elevation gain: 1,000 meters or more

Group Size

  • Minimum: 1 person
  • Maximum: 30 people

Reservations must be made at least 72 hours in advance.

How to Get There?

How to Get There from Bogotá to Villa de Leyva

You have two options:

  1. Bus: Take a bus from the northern terminal. The cost ranges from $8 to $13.

  2. Private Transport: We can include private transportation in your plan. The price depends on the number of passengers (Contact us for details).

The trip takes approximately 3 hours.

Routes & Rides

Most routes follow well-maintained dirt roads with moderate technical difficulty. Thanks to the variety of trails around Villa de Leyva, we offer rides for different skill levels and landscapes.

  • Northern Routes: Lush green landscapes with dense vegetation. You’ll cross streams, cattle farms, and crop fields, as well as segments of native forest. We’ll ride near the majestic mountains of Iguaque National Park.

  • Southern Routes: Stunning views of a small yet picturesque desert known as La Candelaria.

With over 20 carefully designed routes, our tours allow you to fully experience cycling and nature at their best.

On the arrival day, the bike ride can take place in the afternoon, while rides on the following days will be in the morning.

Your stay will be at Hotel Ruta 40 (Booking link), a simple yet well-equipped hotel. It offers a peaceful setting away from the noise of the town center, but just a few blocks from it.

Required Information for a Quote:

1️⃣ Number of cyclists (If there are minors, please specify their ages).
2️⃣ Skill level (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced). If there are mixed levels, a support vehicle is required.
3️⃣ Dates of your trip.
4️⃣ Accommodation type: Room type (single, double, twin, multiple) and hotel (Standard or Superior).
5️⃣ Do you need transportation to and from Bogotá?
6️⃣ Do you need bike rentals? If so, what type? Please provide each rider’s height in cm.
7️⃣ Do you require a support vehicle? (For groups of more than 4 people, a support vehicle is mandatory).
8️⃣ Any additional requests or optional services you may need.

Payment Methods

To reserve your tour, a 50% deposit is required. You can make the payment via:

Bank transfer to a Colombian account
Wise (only from U.S. or European accounts)
PayPal (transaction fees apply)

The remaining balance must be paid in USD upon arrival in Colombia.

Refund Policy

Once the reservation is made, no refunds will be issued in case of cancellation.

However, the reservation can be rescheduled for another available date if we are notified at least 3 weeks before the tour to avoid penalties for existing bookings.

For Rental Bikes:

  • If you use clip pedals, bring your cycling shoes and corresponding pedals (our bikes come with flat pedals, but we will install yours).
  • Personal accessories can be attached to the bike.

Travel Insurance:

For your safety, we recommend purchasing travel insurance from providers such as:
April, Universal, Assist Card, Europ Assistance, Travel Ace, or Travel Nomad.

Important Health & Entry Requirements for Colombia:

  • Yellow fever vaccination is recommended.
  • Check-MIG form should be completed before travel (not mandatory but speeds up migration procedures).
