Live an unforgettable adventure in Colombian lands pedaling from La Calera to Villa de Leyva

A five days ride with an average of 52 km per day. A beautiful tour through the stunning nature of the North-Andean region.

It is possible to schedule this tour any time o f the year if require with enough time in advance for a minimum of 6 people

Day 1 – La Calera

We will pick you up in Bogota (between 1 and 3 pm) and take you to La Calera, a town 30 minutes from the city. We will stay there our first night. You will receive an introduction of the adventure and we will take you to Andrés D.C. in the night. This is a famous restaurant in the city were you can taste our food in a quaint place. Then we come back to la Calera and take a good rest for the next day.

Day 2 – Suesca

The second day we will take a good breakfast and head north early in the morning. We will begin pedaling  around 8:00 am. The first day route goes through secondary roads and off-roads. There will be a support vehicle available during the adventure. We will ride beside Tomine’s lake until Sesquilé. We will have  lunch during the route. Then  we will reach to Suesca, a town known because of the rocks where most of the climbers of this country began climbing. We will sleep there in a comfortable hostel close to the town. We will rest there. You can choose to dinner in the hostel or in the town. We will provide transport. Dinner is not included*

Day 3 – Tinjacá

The third day we will  breakfast and star pedaling making some km in “Flat” terrain and then descending to Suesca lake. We will begin pedaling  around 8:00 am. Then we will have to cross a little hill and descent to a scenery town called Cucunuba. An amazing valley will show before arriving this town. We will  lunch in this place. After recover energy, we will head to San Miguel de Sema. This is the last town in the route before getting to our second accommodation place, a rustic house in the middle of the country with a nice temperature and beautiful landscapes. Today dinner is included.

Day 4 – Villa de Leyva

We start the ride heading to Tinjacá were we will make a stop to eat something and recover energy for the last part of our journey to Villa de Leyva. Depending on the strength we will cross the desert between Raquira and Villa or surround it. The first option has a hard Climb and the second one is easier. We will be arriving to our destiny around midday. In Villa de Leyva we will settle down in a beautiful hostel 3 km from the main town with amazing views. We will have some free time to lunch in the town and take a look around. Then we will visit a Vineyard in the afternoon to taste a good wine from this area. Transport from the hostal is included. Lunch and Dinner is not included.

Day 5 – Return to Bogota

The last day of our adventure we will breakfast and ride around the north part of the town. It is a green area surrounding National Park Iguaque. We will visit some natural areas like Periquera waterfalls and El Pozo de La Vieja. Then we will return to the hotel for lunch and return to Bogota in a 3 hour car trip.

– Bike rent: Hardtails rim 27,5, shimano 9 speed groupset, disc and hydraulic brakes, aluminium frame. Price per day: 20 dollars
