Villa de Leyva MTB Tour

A  3 days plan  riding around Villa de Leyva. One of the most beautiful towns in the country. Come and enjoy stunning nature, delicious food and amazing people. A picturesque historical town set high in the Andes, Colombia‘s Villa de Leyva is one of the country’s top attractions and is home to some of its best preserved colonial architecture. Located a three-hour drive northeast from the capital Bogotá, the 16th-century cobbled streets, terracotta tile roofs and whitewashed buildings welcome visitors to this unique corner of the Boyacá department.

*Skill level: We offer an intermediate level in the description. Nevertheless, in this destination we can offer rutes for begginers, intermediates and anvanced riders.

*Recommendations: Bring comfortable clothes for biking during the day. It can reach 30 C. Degrees or more. In the night it gets cold and a Jacket and long pants should work..

*There are taxis for moving between the town and the hotel for about 5 dollars

*This plan can be done for one, two or more people.

Day 1

We will pick up the group in Bogotá at the airport or in the hotel in the morning.  We will settle in a small but comfortable hotel 3 km from town, located in a  little hill with stunning views. We will introduce the activity during lunch and in the late afternoon we will ride in a short route around the town in order to adapt our body to the  new conditions. This first ride will go throw some interesting places like “The Elephant Stone” or the “Paleontological Museum”, ending in the center of Villa de leyva.  Finally, we will have a brief walking around the central plaza and then head to the hotel and  rest well for the next day.

Day 2

Begins with a fortifying breakfast at 7:30 AM. Then  we will make a 35 km route visiting some places like Fossil museum and a vineyard where we will learn how they produce their wine and taste it.

Then we will have a stop in a place called the Elephant that is a big rock from where you can see a beautiful view of the valley.

In the afternoon we will review the places we have been pedaling, eat a tasty meal in the town and have some free time to visit the area or rest in the swimming pool.

Day 3

The last day we will ride in a route called “La Periquera” because it is in the way to a known waterfalls named like this. It is a 27 km route with an climb of 10 or 12 km before taking the waterfalls path. Then we return in a long off-road descent where we will cross “El Pozo de la Vieja”, a peaceful place between the mountain. We can take a little snack there and then return to the hotel to chill a little bit and return to Bogotá after a great 3day riding tour.

  • Support vehicle (180 dollar per day)
  • Bike rent (20 dollars per day). Hard-tail bikes, aluminium frame, with hydraulic disc Shimano brakes and 27 speed Acera shifters. We have 12 bicycles available. 3 small, 3 medium and 6 Large.

Pricing

 

1 person: 600 dollars

2 people: 500 dollars per person

3 people or more: 450 dollars per person

Way of payment

We make the reservation of the service with the payment of 50%

The other 50% should be paid the first day of the tour.
