Ride dirt trails from ridge to ridge and take in majestic views of the Andean ranges of Cundinamarca as we make our way from the Tomine Water Dam located in the municipality of Sesquile, to the ancient Guatavita Lagune both located in the Cordillera Oriental on the High Lands of Los Andes. On this Colombian mountain biking tour, we explore the culture and pageantry of the tiny colonial town and sacred land of the Muiscas, Guatavita, before heading off to Bogota. We visit one of the sacred lakes of the Chibcha that gave name to the Muisca legend of “El Dorado” and learn of it’s Casiques and how the story tells of glorius rituals, where the Zipa would bathe fully dressed in gold and sumerge inside the ancient waters of the lake. The bike tour ends back again in the town of Guatavita.
For lunch you can enjoy of any of our oustanding partner restaurants along the shore of the Sesquile Dam or you could just choose a healthy sandwich along some of the most breath-takinging scenery in the world. We try riding through areas that are less frequented and unspoiled.
